This latest limited edition from BENU is the last good dragon pen from this year of the dragon. Starting from the box, the story behind the black and green dragons is presented on a nice fold out page. The box is decorated with dragon scales as is the story and history page. The rest is typical minimalist from BENU.
The pen is a bright fire orange acrylic pen, befitting of the fire breathing dragons. The dragon is hand painted art as are the smaller flames around the dragon head. The overall shape of the pen is a many faceted design and is on the thicker side of pens.
The Schmidt #6 stainless steel nib is super smooth and has an average flow. This is ideal for thinner pages while enjoying the smooth nib size. This is my overall point of contention, one and only. An almost $200 pen with a stainless steel nib. It is very smooth but not gold. At this price point I typically like a 14k gold nib. I get the limited aspect of it, even the hand painted nature of the artwork. I even enjoy the high sparkle of the resin. The unique design BENU has with so many facets on cap and body, but a stainless steel nib detracts from this high a price point.
So I would recommend this pen if you, like me, are madly in love with dragons, otherwise the nib falls short at this price point. 8.5/10 for overall ratings, individual aspects are all great in qualities; look, feel, weight, nib smooth, ink flow.
