Dominant Industry Log of Elixir Volume 2
As a www.Penchalet.com exclusive with the Gioia fountain pen this was one amazing special. The pen usually goes for as much as the set was by itself. The added ink and swatching journal made for an almost reflexive grab when I noticed this.
Dominant Industry has come out in the last 4 years and done as their name implies, dominating the fountain pen ink industry. Their inks, inspired by nature, are all beautiful, rich and expressive. One will never lack in expression when writing words if your pen is filled with their ink.
Categories of ink include; standard, pearl, mirror, and hologram. Their inks are warm and inviting. The current offerings of The Log of Elixir Volume 2, is medieval elixir themed. They are allegory and unknown land. While one might say the land color is brown, it has more of a gold hew to it’s earthy nature. Don’t shirk it’s tone from a quick glance. Allegory, a short story or poem with hidden meaning, in the midst of your blue and mysterious sentence the true nature of your message can be revealed. Share with someone a moral in a novel way with this ink.
The Gioia pen is matching these first two inks. Writing with either lets the author feel connected between text on the page and ink in the pen. The ultra smooth nibs will likely fare better on average paper though a little work with micromesh can fix baby’s bottom.
The muddler let’s swatching be a breeze. Glass pens give a quick way to sample writing lines with a medium nib, and the muddler back ball makes for a quick swatch of saturation so that as the inks dry their true nature and hues are revealed as more ink demonstrates better.
Overall each and every aspect from the ink to the coloring log, to the pen and muddler are all a great addition to any collection. If you find yourself lacking, or in a writers block, try the log. Take out some ink, swatch the pages, write about a scene. Let pictures inspire.
